Dr. Sanjeev Kumar

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is active in teaching & research in the area of Digital Systems Engineering, Computer Network Security, Wireless Security, High-Speed Internet Switching/Routing, and Computer Architecture. Before joining UTPA, Dr. Kumar worked with the leading networking companies in the United States. He has authored over 60 technical papers, book, book chapters, and several patents. He received the Ph.D. degree from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering with emphasis on Computer Engineering, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina. He is the founder of NSF funded Network Security Research Lab (NRL) in Electrical & Computer Engineering Department. He has supervised & graduated one of the highest number of Thesis students in the department and many of his students are now working at computer and networking companies. He is a winner of UT Systems Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award, and many UTPA Teaching Excellence Awards. He is an elected Senior member of IEEE.
