Dr. Joseph D. Hovey

Dr. Hovey received a Ph.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from The University of Michigan and a B.A. in Anthropology from UCLA. Dr. Hovey is an internationally recognized scholar in the areas of suicide risk and prevention, mental health of acculturating individuals, agricultural health, cultural adaptation and development of psychological measures, and the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based interventions for anxiety, depression, and suicide behavior. He has an extensive record of publications and grant funding in these areas. Much of the focus of Dr. Hovey's current work is on the implementation of evidence-based interventions in traditionally underserved groups.
