Dr. Debasish Bandyopadhyay

Teaches Organic Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry. Conducts research on Food & Bio-products, Drug Development (Synthetic & Natural) and Green Chemistry. Authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications, international presentations, and book chapters.

  • Areas of Expertise

    • Identification of new and novel nutritious food sources and chemical analysis of fruits, vegetables, and food waste.
    • Extraction, purification, structure elucidation and chemical modification of bio-products targeted to pharmacologically active molecules.
    • Development of greener methodologies aiming to the synthesis of novel pharmacophores.
    • Design, in silico validation and synthesis of novel anticancer polyaromatic and β-lactam compounds.
